Healthcare for the LGBTQ+ Community

Members of the LGBTQ+ community refrain from seeking care due to discrimination or implicit bias which delays important health screenings and contributes to high rates of various cancers and chronic diseases. To ensure the LGBTQ+ community completes their recommended screenings, they need to feel safe in accessing healthcare. Join Dr. Kenneth Abriola, Infectious Disease Specialist and Medical Director at Circle Care Center, Glastonbury, CT and Dr. Camillo Ferrari, Primary Care Provider for a discussion on developing a safe environment for all members of the LGBTQ+ community to ensure routine appointments are held. They will also discuss further care options such as hormone replacement therapy, HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, STI prevention and treatment.
